From Concept to Manufacture
Commercial application and Quality of Design is a vital part of our business and services. This activity provides our clients with a commercial return on their investment and a product that has been “realised” to then go on to be a successful new product in the market place.
1. THE BRIEF - a focus of opportunity
Investigation of the product requirements, user interface, technological opportunities
and manufacturing constraints. These set the direction for the development process
and gives us a focus of opportunity with which to match the final design.
2. CONCEPT - innovative concepts
Creation of innovative concepts built around the fundamentals of the brief. Close client
cooperation to facilitate design creations that are forward in outlook and explore the
boundaries of the brief.
3. DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT - manufacturing solutions
Development of the design concepts through refinement of ideas and manufacturing
constraints. Further visual proposals developed on 3D CAD technology to give photo
realistic images that are used to assess the design. Investigation of manufacturing
solutions are also integrated into the design to ensure all proposals are manufacturable.
4. PRE PRODUCTION - engineering requirements
After approval from the client on the final design we enter a pre-production phase. All
details of the final design are checked against engineering requirements, the brief and
final marketing specifications. At this stage a number of different requirements may need to be initiated from Patent Application, Design registration through to fabrication of
working prototypes.
5. PRODUCTION - manufacturing process
Our expertise in handling all aspects of the manufacturing process means we can
oversee the initial production stages, this could be checking of off-tool plastic parts to
advising on QC, QA controls through to final product assessment.
